I seem to get higher than expected temps with possibly this offset incldued:. No, it doesn't. What is your board? This makes them report temperature a good 10C above what the sensor reads. I would just love to find out why my system reports a much larger offset. There must be some other configuration registers affecting that. Too bad that the information is only available under NDA. In regards to the weird offset with your MB, is it also messed up when you check the temperature inside the UEFI interface?
